Meet the 2019 Summer Program Team
Ellie – Program Director
I have spent more years at Pendalouan than most of our campers have been alive. This includes six years as a camper, four as a counselor, and now two as Program Director! In just two months (!!) I will be
graduating with degrees in Spanish Linguistics and Speech Therapy. I absolutely love to travel and have been to 24 countries. Aside from that, I spend most of my time waitressing at a fancy schmancy restaurant, pumping iron, petting the two cats and dog who allow me to live in their house, reading heaps of books, drinking six cups of tea a day, and trying out new recipes. Get excited because summer is a coming!! 🙂
Bri – Day Camp Director
I am from the Metro Detroit Area. I’m finishing up my sophomore year at Central Michigan University, working towards my degree in Outdoor Recreation, and minor in Music. I have worked at Spring Hill Camps, and Girl Scout Camp Hawthorne Hollow, and am joining Camp Pendalouan for 2019! I am a Christian and am a hippy child through
and through. I play 14 instruments and have a strong passion for the
arts—especially growing up in the theater community and being a super huge marching band geek. I am in Campus Ministry at CMU, and am in the marching band, too. I like long walks on the beach, cookie dough ice cream, and stargazing. I am a huge Disney fan, a Gryffindor, and an avid coffee drinker. I wear Chacos year-round, and love to hammock. I am very excited to join the Pendy family this summer, fully prepared with a full fanny pack of camp songs, skits, and potentially rubber ducks!
Bridgette – Waterfront Director
I’m super excited to spend my 7th summer on the shores of Big Blue Lake and I can’t wait to see what my third summer on staff has in store. I am currently an Outdoor Recreation major with a minor in Youth Studies at Central Michigan University and I’m also on the CMU
Quidditch team! Some of my favorite things to do are be outside, hang out with my twos cats Stanley and Loki, talk about camp, drink coffee, and play Mario Kart!
Chris – Health Officer
This will be my second summer at Pendalouan but my first time being a Health Officer! I recently finished up EMT school and received my National Certification and Michigan License. After Camp ends I plan on hopping on an ambulance and starting my path on to becoming
a PA, with a specialty in pediatrics. I was born in Michigan but have hopped around a little bit living in North Carolina, Nebraska, and Florida. In my free time I love to run, play guitar, and hang out on the beach. I am really excited to come back for another summer!
Maeve – Equestrian Director
Hi everyone! My name is Maeve and you may remember me from last summer always being at the barn! That is where you can find me this year as well! I cannot wait to see all of you on the shores of Big Blue Lake learning about horses and having lots of fun!
Al – Assistant Equestrian Director
I’ve been working at Pendy for the last 3 summers and I’m very excited to be entering my 4th. Some of my favorite camp activities are capture the flag, making foil dinners, and jumping in big blue. When not at camp I work as a manager at McDonalds and attend Lansing Community College for an engineering degree. In my free time I like
playing video games, doing taekwondo, and going camping. I look forward to seeing you on the shores of Big Blue!
Chandler – Teen Director
Hey everyone! My name is Chandler, and I am so happy to be coming back to the shores of Big Blue Lake for the summer! Before becoming a counselor, I was a camper–including an LIT and a CIT–for three years, and I have been a counselor the past three years. For this coming summer, I will be working with the teens as our Teen Director, and I am super excited! The teen program is one of my favorite aspects of camp, and I love doing leadership activities outdoors! Especially anything involving the ropes. I spend my days playing Quidditch and studying to be a teacher at Central Michigan University, and I love to play soccer and table tennis. When you see me at camp, you can expect hawaiian shirts and backwards caps! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at camp this summer.
Claire – Activities Coordinator
Hello Pendy friends! My name is Claire and I feel grateful to be coming
back for another amazing summer on Big Blue Lake. Although I’ve been a counselor for the last three summers, I’m thrilled to be stepping into a new role this summer- your Activities/Trading Post Coordinator. I’ll be making our camp store one of the most popping places on Camp’s block as well as making sure the activity areas like our archery ranges and the craft shack run smoothly. I spend most of the year when I’m not at camp in Kalamazoo, Michigan
studying Psychology and Film/Media Studies. When I’m not in the library, I can be found swimming for miles, creating cool music playlists, laughing at my own jokes, or stargazing in a hammock. I am so excited to come back to all the wonderful camp songs, amazing friendships, out-of-this-world memories, and the task of seasoning the ultimate foil dinner. See you soon!
