Bruce Spoelman

Executive Director

Bruce has a history with Camp Pendalouan, having camped there as a child and worked on staff as Waterfront Director in the 1970's. Returning in 2004 as the executive director, he brings over 20 years of experience in camping, business and financial management. Bruce lives at camp part-time in the summer and otherwise lives in Grand Haven with his wife, Margaret, and two daughters, Katie and Gretchen. Margaret is a licensed professional counselor/consultant and is a great staff resource.

Gabrielle Gerlach

Associate Executive Director

Gabrielle has a long background in the recreation industry, including Walt Disney World's Conservation Day Camp. Gabe oversees the Camp Director and coordinates Pendalouan’s marketing and fundraising efforts.
Gabe lives off site.

Matthew Abel

Camp Director

Matthew has a long history at Camp Pendalouan, having worked as Teen Director, Summer Program Director, and Outdoor Education Coordinator. Matthew is responsible for all programming areas including summer, outdoor education and conference groups. He lives on-site with his family.

Melody McPherson

Office Manager, Administrative Assistant

Melody has also worked at camp for many years, and brings a wealth of experience and competence to her many, varied tasks. Not only does she help with the registrations for all programs, the mailings and the phone calls, but she is the one that trouble shoots many problems for people when they need help.

Megan Archambeau


Megan grew up in the world of YMCA camps. She has been a counselor, waterfront director, and program director among other roles. Camping has always been a passion for her. Some of her favorite activities are fishing, swimming, and hiking. She is responsible for registrations here at Camp Pendalouan.
